Academy of European Arms is the only place in North America where you can learn "European Conglomerate; the first truly new and all inclusive style on European Self Defense to be created in over 200 years.
Created and taught by Master instructor Sir Ronald Courtain-Tharp; Knight of the Dynastic Order of the Green Cross; this new and exciting style combines his 28 years of personnel Medieval Combat with the ideas from such masters as Capo Ferro, De Grassi, Silver, Saviolo, and others into one ultimate style that will put you in the forefront of any Duel, Fight, or reenactment Battle.
Academy of European Arms is also the only dedicated school in Oregon where you can learn the weapons and fighting techniques; as taught by historical fencing masters Angelo,McBane,and Page; that made the Scottish Highlander one of the most Devastating, Respected, and Feared warriors in all of Europe.
What is the Academy of European Arms? We are a School dedicated to the promotion and training in Actual European Medieval Combat and Historical Highland Broadsword in defense of oneself.
How do we do this? We do this through education, training, sparring, and tournaments. Unlike other traditional martial art schools where you train with weapons in forms and unrealistic demonstrations but never learn to use it in practical terms we continuously strive to teach our students the practicalities and develop the ability to adapt to new and different situations through sparring sessions and tournaments.
